Waking up this morning I thought of how blessed I am to have a huge base of supportive friends, family and acquaintances. Yesterday you blew my mind by clicking the ‘like’ button on Facebook over 50 times in less than 2 hours. Today I woke up to 100 likes which is so far beyond what I was expecting or even hoping for. So here’s to you and the love I’m feeling from all of you. Thank you! My ultimate thanks, however, goes to God for giving me the love of music, a talent to play, the ability to teach, and people like you to support me.

My plan for this blog is to post at least once a week, most likely on Thursdays. I want to let you in to my musical world. I’ll talk about what I’ve been listening to, what I’ve been teaching, and whatever else comes to my mind.

For now I’d like to introduce you to an artist that I’ve been listening to all morning. Janet Devlin. She has this irresistibly gentle voice and her lyrics are quite captivating. One particular favourite song of mine is Things We Lost in the Fire. It’s a sad song but you might start to gather that the songs I enjoy most are the ones where someone has really managed to capture a hard feeling in lyric and melody. Check out Janet on Youtube if you have a chance and let me know what you think of her music!
